ARCOM's Sustainability Tool Will Support USGBC's LEED 2009 Extension

The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) has decided to extend the LEED 2009 registration deadline from June 15, 2015, to October 31, 2016, in response to feedback USGBC received from industry professionals during the Greenbuild conference. Extending the LEED 2009 deadline allows extra time for the green building industry to adjust to LEED v4, which debuted nearly one year ago and will remain available during this LEED 2009 extension.

ARCOM remains committed to integrating green rating systems into MasterSpec and will continue to support both LEED 2009 and LEED v4 projects during this extension through its cloud-based sustainability tool. ARCOM's sustainability feature allows specifiers to quickly select their sustainability preferences from a user-friendly interface and globally applies the specifier's preferences throughout each MasterSpec specification section. The tool supports a variety of green building projects, whether the project adheres to a LEED rating system or ASHRAE Standard 189.1, the International Green Construction Code, or Green Globes. With the help provided by this advanced feature, MasterSpec users can remain confident in their ability to efficiently create accurate specifications throughout this LEED 2009 extension and beyond.
